Argentiere, France : The first stage of the Haute Route leads from Chamonix to Argentiere (French translation - silver earth). Highlights include Lac Blanc, vistas of the Mer de Glace, and sweeping panoramas of the mountains bordering the Chamonix Valley, including the giant Mont Blanc. The route to Lac Blanc is part of a national park making it the busiest stage of the Haute Route.

Les Haudères : The route from Arolla to Les Hauderes is largely undemanding. Les Hauderes itself is a charming little Swiss town. Depending on the variation taken, it is also the last French speaking town visited on the Haute Route.

Alpine Flowers : A collection of flower and plant photos taken in the French and Swiss Alps. Some photos are of wild flowers, while others are garden flowers. The Swiss diligently maintain their gardens and their flower pots; it seems as if neighbors compete against each other for "color supremacy".

Alaska : Fall in Alaska offers the opportunity to shoot many shades of gray.

Chamonix Mont Blanc

Zermatt : Few things haven't already been said about the attractive marvels that Zermatt offers. The town is bustling with cosmopolitan people, restaurants and shops, starkly different to many other towns on the Haute Route. Nevertheless, it retains the adventure, vistas and character that unite all mountain centers. The crown jewel of Zermatt is the Matterhorn. The photographer's reason for trekking the Haute Route was to end beneath the Matterhorn; he wasn't disappointed.

Renaissance Fair : The 2009 Maryland Renaissance Festival was held in Crownsville, Maryland. Besides being full of merriment, it heralds the beauty of Autumn. While mostly a personal album, the intent was to showcase the colors of Fall and a little bit of the spirit of the festival.

Jami's Spring Party May 2009

Mount Saint Mary's University : Founded in 1808, Mount Saint Mary's University is the oldest independent Catholic university in America. Hallmarks include a national shrine, the Grotto of Lourdes, and remnants of the moutain home of the French refugee, Father John DuBois. The aim of this gallery was to render the university in sharp clarity and to give prominence to the strength of its architecture.
